Dear Friends,

We are very pleased that our efforts to deliver some form of relief for our devastated kababayans which has resulted to date to $13,010 (Oct 24). Photo on the right, was taken on October 9 at the Kalayaan Center in Mississauga during the fund raising jamming session where the first cheque donation for $7,500 was turned over to ShareLife.

Photo on the right are (standing L-R): UPAA President Joe Zagala, Ondoy Fund Task Force Chair Fred Gamboa, ShareLife Executive Director Art Peters, Ondoy Task Force Co-Chair Malou Parcero, CHSAA President Beng Lorayes, SBCAA representative Rolly Cunanan, UPAA Treasurer Gena Baldivia and Philippine Artist Group President Omel Masalunga.

We thank our supporters, donors, and pledgers. Special thanks to another alumni association who has joined fellow alumni schools CHS, SBC, UST in supporting us with their generous donation both from CPUAA and also from some of its alumni members. Special thanks to Edwin Arroz, outgoing President and Josie Dayao, incoming President. And of course very special thanks to Ateneo's Boy Reyes, PCUAA President for continually sending our updates to PCUAA member school leads.

We continue to blitz on our Ondoy Relief campaign for the next 2 weeks or so, before we remit our next cheque to ShareLife.

We are still targetting to reach $15,000 within next few weeks. We are imploring your cooperation to help us reach our target.Philippine victims are now in the rehab and rebuild phase while they struggle to rise from the devastation. Medical needs are growing as disease is a natural path of such calamities. We, who are here can only try to be enabling agents of their rehab-rebuild process. Hope springs eternal.

Please pass on our online donation site: http://www.upaatoronto.org/ondoy.htm

Special thanks to Livvy Camacho of UPAA who has put donation boxes and organized 50/50 draws for our campaign. Special thanks to Elvie Tan of CHS who has gone from school to school in York to post our posters and has reported positive feedback. Special thanks to Rene Sevilla and Jess Perucho who are always forefront to take the pictures to share e-wide. They and many more are our own 'CNN' heroes and heroines.

Thanks and much respect,
Ondoy Task Force

as ONE,
we have the Power to Transform....

This is the wow moment of our fund drive.

"It shows how we can be collaborative in our efforts as we join hands to feed one more child, to have one more mother cook a hot meal, one more father to repair or build new house as they start to accumulate another set of photos, belongings - which they have lost in the flood on their way to restore dignity in being".
